Take a shot for every “like” in this video. Amazing performance on the climb

No link to Aidan’s video in either the description or pinned comment? How come?
Which video? The full video interview is available on the struggle Patreon. The video of Aidan climbing that we used for the most part to explore his movement (tripod video he took himself) is available to the Careless Talk patrons, and any other videos that were used have a credit on screen so you should be able to find them. If there’s something else that I can help with let me know! Thanks for watching.
@@thestruggleclimbingshowI remember a video on RUclips on the wedge climbing channel. You do credit it on screen during the video but not with a link. I did just re watch it by searching so it is findable with your in video descriptions. A link just seems like a smoother solution but rewatching the video it is not only about the one boulder
I appreciate the heads up, I’ll get that link up there when I’m back at my computer
Alex's comment on consistency really is the key - 1.5 years ago I had open heart surgery. Was a 5.10 climber prior. Worked my way up to 2 minute bar hangs ~ climbed a 5.11 last week at the age of 64.

Alex Honnold is awesome! That other dude is perpetrating 😪
Fear is not the leader
It's funny how when you want to watch free solo videos with Honnold but don't wanna include his videos.. you just gotta watch animals cause he's the goat and only guy that has enough solo videos
This was a great listen.
This actually looks like a boulder problem now... Idk why that touches me but it's a sick quote
💯
My son tells me I have the strength but not the confidence. I have a problem with fear of falling and not committing enough. I'll be working on it as soon as I get back after the minor knee surgery. There's a real element of needing mind over matter, at least in my case.
It took me a couple years of very thoughtful and deliberate work to address my fear of falling… And once I got it into a better place, I started flying through the grades and just enjoying my time on rock more than ever. Lots of great resources out there, from Hazel Findlay‘s Strong Mind course to some great books like the rock Warriors Way and Vertical Mind.
Alex could get a job escorting people to the grim reaper , “no no , don’t worry , it will be fine , he’s super chill”.
Love your podcast. She's got nice teeth too!
Thanks for the kind words but what about MY teeth? Sheesh. No love 😁
@thestruggleclimbingshow I didn't even look. I think you guys should have do e a foot comparison though.
Warm up. Nothing new. I advocate multiple pulling positions as well. Commom sense

I can attest from experience the opening statement he makes in this video is complete BS. Because the best summer I had on real rock was after a 6 week sesh of nothing but handboarding.
Glad to hear it’s working for you! I think Tyler’s point (in more detail on the full podcast) is that there are other methodologies that are showing to be more effective than heavy hangs. I’ve been mixing in some of his suggestions and really liking the results.
Given how long he’s been projecting this route and how much he’s struggled posing this question is laughable. Upgrade possibility was the correct question.
Well this came from him talking about finding new beta that made the crux easier for him to do than Adam’s beta. But yeah, I agree, probably more likely to see an upgrade! He’s working on it again soon, I think he’s gonna get it. Psyched for him!
You are crazy, climbing up the side of a mountain is nothing like an exam! Exams might dampen your spirit, and indoctrinate you in many ways but at least a week of singing bowls can get you over it, mess up on what you guys were doing and that is the end of your human experience!
Tell me one more time male privilage exists.
because making money selling pictures of your feet is such an unfair advantage that it doesn't matter if inequality exists in other situations, true privilege is the ability to sell feet pics.
You clearly don't understand what male privilege is lmfao were you dropped on your head as an infant?
@@kenanjones3481 what
I asked my friends if they think I could sell foot pics and they told me I'd have more luck being paid to keep my feet covered at all times
Anna is fantastic! 😀Anna with feet is even better!! 😀
😆
How are her feet staying pretty if she cramps them into climbing shoes? My toe nails are basically gone and I have rough skin everywhere
They don't... that's literally what she said lmfao
This is awesome
I don't even want to see a foot, let alone pay to see one.
Then don't lmao also why take effort to cry about it, just move tf on
@@sploo13 found the foot freak
@@sploo13 yeah, you really did. You're a very perceptive person, not a dullard who can't understand sarcasm.
Not my cup of tea but, more power to your elbow Anna 😂 (Yes it's a saying in the UK) not sexual spud feet pics 😂
Stunning level of stupidity....

Everything Magnus does in his life is for views on the internet.
Something is going on with Hannold mentally and emotionally. There is a flat lack of sensitivity there.
90% mental ability
Excellent content gentleman!
im so in love with her and nina
Me too
Alex watching his bothers and sisters finding salt
Love Paige! So thoughtful with her answers. And I love butter as well. Sometimes when I look in the fridge and I'm down to one stick I'm so surprised. Like how did I go through it so quick. Like with Paige though it's about balance.
😂🧈
He says that but I’d bet if you compared his flexor tendons to a power lifters they’d be noticeably bigger.
Imma beginner climber and been climbing a couple of times. When I started fingerboarding, my finger strength improve significantly! I was quite shocked and I can really see the improvement even after a few sessions on the gym

Traversi is a great surname for a climber......
Especially considering his Magnum opus, the dark side, is essentially a V16 traverse 💪
He owns and runs a very thoughtful climbing gym. This take is in relation to the training emphasis and implements that have been emphasized so much in recent years. Time and place for all of it. Check out the full interview for his very thoughtful perspective on this and a lot more.
....literally all climbing halls are built around the movement component. You know, the places that set new routes weekly with new movements. Terrible take, 1/10.
A couple things I thought Alex handled badly: 1. He said there were no cracks on the route, there were in fact 2 cracks. 2. He said there would be lots of chalk, there was not much chalk at all. 3. He clearly didn't remember the route as well as he thought he did. 4. He at one point climbed way ahead of Magnus leaving him behind and went all the way up to a ledge and kept filming at a critical stage in the climb when Magnus was clearly struggling. He should have stayed close to him to advise him on holds and keep him calm throughout. At the end of the day it was Magnus choice to do the climb, but he made that decision based on information presented by Alex which was not always accurate. That said, that is partly what made it such an epic and dramatic video. Amazing content, but part of why it was so amazing was the fear the viewer has for Magnus life. Kind of uncool lol
The fact that he managed to free solo that after doing all that marine training the flights and long drives show you what kinda beast magnas is
Respect to this lady she’s a good climber “looks strong” BUT you got me😅 well played.
You just click bait me?
I think it was a title typo. Should be “what Alex megos didn’t train for a decade,” instead of “why.”
It’s really annoying those titles
@@21nGG , I do some work for a big RUclipsr. I promise nothing is unintentional with these titles. Oh well. I still watched it all. Would I have clicked if it said what instead of why? I think so. Although I might not have commented and that drives engagement as well.
Sorry yall- it was supposed to include “heel hooks” in the title (the thing he didn’t train). I work with an editor on these videos and missed the error when I approved the packaging. Trying hard to put out good and useful stuff for climbers! This video covered some great topics and it was hard to figure out a title tbh. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
@@sploo13 , haters in the building.
First
The F.A. shoulda just used a kneepad if the kneebar is there.... its the same as the F.A not finding a key hold until other people have repeated it, or a hold breaking and revealing a bigger hold. I do not think it should be easier with a pad, I think people can claim whatever the route is as long as they start off the deck and finish at the anchors.

As somebody with with ADHD, I don’t think this applies to me at all.
ADHD can be debilitating especially after an attempt to achieve something. At times it may feel futile. I can assure you that everyone faces that wall. For us it’s at the beginning stages of a journey. A piece of advice from a stranger on the internet: Go deeper into yourself, demand a higher standard of thinking, practice concentration. I was diagnosed with adhd and bpd when I was 18. Not once did that hinder me from accomplishing what I desired. Did it makes certain ways of learning difficult? Yes but that’s because that way was not right for me, I found my own. People will tell you all that’s wrong with you, if you accept you have already lost before you begun. Cut the crap and get moving
Does it have to be finger curls? Or can it be isometric hangs??
Either is fine. Just a low load progressive load
Bet she looks great naked
Hoping Alex makes his way to Rocktober Fest in the Red River Gorge Kentucky this year that would be awesome 🤙
